The Astrologie of Brian Jones – Brian’s death        By Roxanne Fontana – Treiber

I am not a professional astrologer, more of an armchair enthusiast even though I’ve had an interest in it forever and have been actively studying this science for about fifteen years.  For those of you who know a bit about astrology, I’m sure you’ll find my findings quite interesting, and for those who don’t but may be curious, I’m really going to try to explain things as simply and properly as I can!

To begin with, ‘the astrological chart’ is a circle divided equally into 12 segments, it is scientifically drawn up and constructed based on a time, place and a date.  The chart maps out where the planets were sitting at any specific period in time, as in what zodiacal sign, the definition of those placements, and where on the ‘wheel’ these energies sit.  Everything, meaning the planets, the signs and what sign the wheel starts on is specifally based on the time, place and date information.

In a three part artice I’m going to look at the astrology of Brian Jones.  Incidentally Brian is my personal astrological mirror being born on February 28th, to my September 2nd, something I always found amusing since I’ve been studying Brian’s life since I was 14 years old, at which time I also launched the first posthumous international fan club for this mega rock star.

As there’s been much talk recently about Brian’s death, Part One of my article deals with a chart constructed for East Grinstead - England, the closest ‘big town’ to Hartfield for the evening of July 2nd, 1969.  In the next issues we’ll look back at Brian’s own astrological chart, and then graduate together to ‘transits’ – i.e. where the planets are now, and how they hit Brian’s natal chart and comparing this chart to the chart of July 2nd, 1969.  Those familiar with astrology will know that it is in this manner that astrologers can ‘predict’ what is happening in your life.  When and if, as currently, a planet like Venus is well aspected to the chart you are born with; then love, creativity, or children are more likely to come into your life than when it’s not aspecting anything in your chart.  We will use this method to see if the investigation into Brian’s death for example may be reopened, and if so, when.  We can also see where the planets are when the Stephen Woolley film is to be released to see how it is accepted, on what level, or if at all.

I want to start by telling all that do not know, originally, as in thousands of years ago, astrology was not used for personal use.  It was used by Kings to tell of times of famine coming, times of war, political situations, etc.  For example, it was three astrologers in Israel who foresaw the birth of a new King in Israel by the position of the stars and prompted them to go to King Herod and inform him of such.  I mention this to validate the fact that I can erect a chart for a place in time as opposed to just a person.

In the East Grinstead chart for 9.55 pm, July 2nd 1969 the ‘ruler’ of the chart, its ruling energy/circumstance (which is the planet that rules the chart’s rising sign, seen at the left) is Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn.  Three things immediately strike me about this: -

1.        It is believed that Capricorn is Brian’s own rising sign.

2.        The ruler of Capricorn is Saturn – the planet that rules

physical restriction and any limitations and karma as well.

3.        Capricorn’s representative ‘symbol’ is the goat.  It’s

Interesting to note at this point that the Moroccan Joujouka

Musicians that Brian recorded in 1968 had asked him to ‘play’the goat god Bou Jeloud in their next festival.  He

declined, he died, and today those musicians think there is significance in this.  They have a poster of Brian hanging up in their wooded church and sing an infamous song about him – that he’s with them forever and Joujouka is ‘really stoned’ (Rolling Stones pun most likely intended).

Each of the 12 houses, each slice of the pie, represents a different area of life - for example the 10th house represents destiny, the 2nd money, the 6th service, etc.  In this chart for July 2nd 1969, in the house of death the 8th house, we have no less than three planets, Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus sitting next to each other!  The significance of these three planets can be summarised as follows; Pluto represents death itself - with implication of a crime, incidentally Pluto rules crime as well as just physical death.  Jupiter indicates greatness - Brian was a super-star of the time and his death would be regarded as 'grater' than another not so well known person, and finally Uranus, giving a shocking aspect to the whole situation.  This chart tells of someone's actual violent and criminal death.  While each house as I've stated represents different aspects of one's life, the 8th house also lends itself to the clandestine and even to vengeance.

Sitting between Pluto and Jupiter in the 8th hosue of this chart is the Moon's south node, a negative and powerful aspect.  At the top of the chart, the destiny, we find Neptune (brian's own planet, the ruler of Pisces).  Neptune is a planet that's known for illusion (as well as alcohol), it is here placed in secretive Scorpio (Pluto's own sign).  Sitting next to Neptune and striding the line that is the destiny we find Mars, the planet of violence.  (Brian's own Sun, 8 degree Pisces, is sitting in the chart's first house, indicating he's the star of this disgusting show).

Overall, any astrologer can tell you that it's absolutely no stretch at all to say that this chart speaks of a secret and violent death of somebody, somebody big - the nature of Jupiter defines that it could mean a fat person, or yes, a famous person.  With the July sun in Cancer falling in the 6th house, it could very well be murder and not manslaughter, even a 'for hire' for service job.  I would absolutely love to know the birthdates of some of the dubious characters who were around the scene to see where they 'fall' in this pie!  (Anna falls in the 5th house, yep, the girlfriend!)

·        Considering Brian's natal chart is very similar to the one as far as what signs rule what houses (not the planets, just the wheel itself), one can superimpose the chart over this one and it indicated that Brian was in fine health that evening.  It also indicates a violent act.  Although the coroner has ruled that while Brian was under the influence of alcohol, he was not that drunk to be the cause of his death.  I would say however that a combination of drink and other substances would have prevented him from physically fighting back an attack!  Finding Saturn in the third house of communication, I would say there was definitely a conflict going on, and this is putting it mildly.  The Moon usually indicates the ‘matter’ or ‘reason’ – it is the closest planet to Earth.  That July 2nd pm, the Moon in late Aquarius would put that Moon in Brian’s 2nd house (money).  Frank Thorogood who has actually been accused of murdering Brian (by Frank’s own best friend; the questionable –and herein lies a great examply of why – Tom Keylock – Keith Richard’s  chauffeur, Brian’s cook at one point, and even once Mick Jagger’s drug procurer according to author Tony Sanchez) was supposedly at Brian’s house to discuss with Brian why there was no paycheck for him back in London tat day.  On the other hand, there’s the story of the first big fat pay check due to Brian by their manager, on that very day too (that was payday at the Stones office and co-incidentally, Mr. Klein was in town this particular week).

In conclusion, an astrologer can look at this chart and say that there was a great and violent death in the area of East Grinstead on the night of July 2nd 1969.  The science of astrology is an exact discipline and although sceptics often cast aspersions, proof of the success of using astrological information can be found in many walks of life.
